Chris Templeman scored the winner against Spartans to ensure there was no upset as Forfar progressed to the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.

The hosts appealed unsuccessfully for a penalty when Iain Campbell appeared to handle in the box after 32 minutes.

Kevin Gordon's mishit effort was the closest Third Division Forfar came to breaking the deadlock before the break.

But the visitors made the breakthrough in the 55th minute when Templeman's deflected shot found the net.
