First Division Ayr booked their place in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup thanks to a Ryan Stevenson goal.
The Highland League side stuck doggedly to their task throughout and had an early chance through Gary McGowan.
But Ayr took a grip on the game and it needed a series of good saves from keeper James Blanchard to deny them.
However, Blanchard was finally beaten by Stevenson, the midfielder meeting a Alastair Woodburn cross to find the corner of the net.
