Artur Boruc produced some fine saves against Dundee |
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan praised his side - especially goalkeeper Artur Boruc - and Dundee for serving up a value-for-money CIS Insurance Cup tie. "It was a cracking game," he said after a 2-1 win over the First Division outfit. "It was a great game on Sunday and it was a great game here.
"It had everything. We were confident until we started to give away free-kicks and they had great delivery.
"If we did not clear it, Artur was there with some great saves."
Two mistakes by Boruc had helped Hibernian defeat Celtic in the Scottish Premier League on Sunday.
"He did well considering the great pressure on him," said Strachan after his side made sure of a quarter-final place.

"But he is a big personality and nothing bothers him."
Dundee player-manager Alex Rae thought Boruc had made the difference.
"I think the boys were fantastic," he told BBC Sport. "They gave everything and I was very proud of them, but unfortunately Artur Boruc was back on form.
"We hit the woodwork twice and forced Boruc to make a couple of great saves."
Rae was also delighted with the display of Dundee midfielder Kevin MacDonald, for whom a transfer bid was rejected from Celtic last year.
"I have said all along that he is an amazing talent and we are very lucky to have him," he said.
McDonald had scored the goal that gave the First Division side some late hope of a fightback at Dens Park.
But the 18-year-old avoided all talk of big-money moves.
"I'm just concentrating on getting my head down and playing for Dundee and getting promotion," he said.
