Rangers manager Alex McLeish vowed to fight on despite mounting pressure after the 2-0 CIS quarter-final defeat at the hands of Glasgow rivals Celtic. "I don't quit easily," McLeish told BBC Sport. "It's not easy at the moment, but we'll keep soldiering on.
"Our discipline has been good, so I was disappointed to lose Sotirios Kyrgiakos. It made it difficult for us.
"They are dropping like flies at the moment and we also lost Julien Rodriguez to injury out there."
The French defender is added to an already lengthy injury list.
"It could be damage to his calf or a bone injury and, once we see the scans in the morning, I'll be able to tell you further," said McLeish.
Kyrgiakos' moment of madness had made Rangers' task all the more harder.
The Greek defender faces internal disciplinary action for his show of petulance after he applauded the referee after conceding a free-kick and was promptly shown his second yellow card.
"I need to have an explanation," said the Rangers manager.
"I understand he was sent off for dissent, but we will deal with that internally because you can't afford to lose guys like Sotirios.
"It was too important for us to lose a man for dissent."
Rangers' night got even gloomier when Julien Rodriguez was helped off with a serious-looking injury.
