Under-21 international friendly - Wales under-21 v Austria under-21 Venue: Spytty Park Date: Wednesday, 17 November Kick-off: 1945 GMT
Adam Matthews and Joe Allen are promising young Welsh players
Wales senior caps Adam Matthews and Joe Allen have been called-up into Wales' under-21 squad for their November friendly with Austria in Newport.
Cardiff right-back Matthews and Swansea midfielder Allen are joined in the 18-man squad by experienced trio Nathan Craig, Rhys Taylor and Joe Partington.
Brian Flynn has handed first under-21 calls to left-backs Paul Dummett of Newcastle and Ipswich's Troy Brown.
Shrewsbury Town's former Welsh Premier striker Tom Bradshaw also wins a call.
The Spytty Park friendly is the return match of the 1-0 defeat between the two nations in Parndorf in May - and is the first friendly for the under-21s as they prepare for their next European campaign.
Wales narrowly failed to qualify for the Uefa 2011 under-21 European championships despite leading their group for the majority of the qualification campaign.
But Brian Flynn's youngsters will start their Uefa 2013 under-21 European championship next September - and all of the players picked in the squad to face Austria are eligible for the next qualifying tournament.
Coach Flynn said: "I need to replace the likes of Shaun MacDonald, Mark Bradley, Hal Robson-Kanu etc who are now too old for the squad, but I am happy that we have some good youngsters ready to step-up.
"Some were with me last week in our Under 19 mini-tournament qualifiers in south Wales so I know plenty about them."
