Coach Brian Flynn saw Wales U21 come from behind in Ta'Qali
Hal Robson-Kanu rescued a draw for Wales Under-21 in their friendly away to Malta U21 in Ta'Qali on Tuesday.
The Reading striker met Neil Taylor's low cross to nod in off the post, while Robson-Kanu had earlier also rattled the woodwork with a fierce drive.
Malta had taken the lead on the half-hour when John Mintoff raced down the right wing to set up Terrence Vella.
Maltese keeper Henry Bonello then did well to deny Elliot Chamberlain, but was given no chance by Robson-Kanu.
After this work-out for a largely experimental Wales U21 side comes the real test of their final two Uefa qualifiers in September against Hungary and Italy.
Both are away from home and one win looks certain to confirm at least a second-place finish and hopefully a play-off spot.
