Wales boss John Toshack is looking forward to locking horns with England
Wales boss John Toshack was happy with the result of Sunday's qualifying draw for the 2012 European Championships.
Their Pool G opponents will be England, Switzerland, Bulgaria and Montenegro.
"Drawing England will please all the Welsh fans - plenty of history there and we like nothing better than another chance against the old enemy!" he said.
"We have had recent experience against both Bulgaria and Montenegro, and Switzerland are a good mid-ranking European side."
The qualifying matches will begin in September 2010 and a meeting will be held soon between the five nations to discuss fixtures.
The nine pool winners plus the best runner up will qualify automatically for the finals, which will be hosted jointly by Poland and Ukraine.
While England start favourites to top Pool G, Toshack believes that Wales have an excellent chance of advancing from the group.
"I imagine that all three sides [Wales, Bulgaria and Switzerland] would feel that second place is possible, it will be up to us to try and go one better than that," Toshack added.
"I know [England manager] Fabio Capello quite well, so will look forward to being able to pit our talents against a powerful England team later in the year."
The next time Wales and England meet will be the 100th international game between the two old rivals, although Wales have won on 14 occasions, with 21 draws and 64 wins for England.
The last games between the two sides was during qualifying for the 2006 World Cup, England winning 1-0 at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium in 3 September 2005 thanks to a Joe Cole goal.
Wales have been drawn in one of the three less populated qualifying groups, a fact that Toshack believes will be helpful.
