Simon Church points to the sky after scoring his first Wales senior goal
Simon Church dedicated his first Wales senior goal to his late father Bruce, who died two months ago.
The 20-year-old Reading striker added to Dave Edwards' opener as Wales eased to a 3-0 friendly win over Scotland at the Cardiff City Stadium.
"That was for my dad," Church told BBC Sport Wales.
"Obviously he can't be here but he would be proud, he would have been watching. Every goal I score is for him."
Scotland were shell-shocked as Wales attacked from the off and grabbed deserved goals through Edwards, Church and star midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
And Church, who won his sixth senior cap in the first international match to be played at the Cardiff City Stadium, believes John Toshack's young Wales are starting to click.
"During the [Wrold Cup qualifying] campaign games I played in we had to grind out results and we haven't played the best football," he said.
"But today the team started to gel and look comfortable against first-class opposition.
"As soon as we get together we have that connection and we are doing really well at the moment.
"Everyone's enjoying it and we are playing really good football."
Church will now team up with the Under-21 side who fly out to Sarajevo where they face Bosnia-Herzegovina in a Uefa U21 Championship qualifier.
Wales lead Group Three with four wins and a draw from their opening five games, but their remaining three games are away from home, starting with bottom side Bosnia on Wednesday.
He will be joined by Ched Evans, Sam Vokes, Andy King and Joe Allen, who all featured in the win over Scotland.
And Swansea City midfielder Allen knows the importance of keeping up their unbeaten run in the group.
"The focus turns straight away to Wednesday's game which is an important qualifier," said Allen, who won his second senior cap on Saturday.
"We've got some really good players out there, it's a really strong squad and I think we are going to put expectations on ourselves to get a result."
The 10 group winners and four best runners-up will qualify for the play-off stage, with the seven winners joining hosts Denmark in the finals in June 2011.
