Welsh FA advertise for chief exec

The Football Association of Wales has officially advertised for its first chief executive to replace outgoing secretary general David Collins.

The new incumbent will be responsible will have to grow the commercial arm of the Welsh FA including sponsorship, media rights and match day revenues.

The new £100,000-a-year chief exec would have to report to the FAW's president and council.

Collins will relinquish his post of 14 years when he turns 65 in January.

Top headhunting firm Veredus have been requested to find a suitable shortlist for the FAW committee and the deadline for applications is 28 September.

The FAW advert demands "a football lover and seasoned business professional with a track record in deal making and driving commercial revenues with operational management gravitas and strong influencing skills."

Collins replaced Alan Evans as secretary back in 1995.
