Wales Under-21s have been drawn in the same group as Italy for the 2011 Uefa European U21 Championship qualifiers.
Brian Flynn's youngsters narrowly missed out on a place in this year's finals in Sweden after losing to England in a two-legged play-off.
Also in group three are Hungary, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Luxembourg.
The 10 group winners and the four best runners-up at the end of the group stage will meet in play-offs which will decide who goes to Denmark in 2011.
"I am pleased we are going back to a happy hunting-ground in Bosnia-Herzegovina," said Flynn.
"I am also looking forward to mouth-watering fixtures with Italy, without disregarding Hungary and a resurgent Luxembourg.
"Overall, I am delighted with the draw, which will not cause us too many problems from a travel point of view.
"Also it gives me my first chance to cross swords with Italy, as I never played against them in my international career, and up until now, have not met them as a coach and manager."
