 Arsenal's Jayne Ludlow will captain Wales against Germany |
Wales Women face the toughest of opening matches in their 2009 Uefa Championship qualifying campaign. World and European champions Germany are first up for Wales on Thursday at the New Bridge Meadow, Haverfordwest.
Wales and Germany are in a group that also includes the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland, with qualifying games taking place over the next 18 months.
The Wales squad is managed by Andy Beattie and is captained by Arsenal Ladies midfielder Jayne Ludlow.
Ludlow has helped her club side to the unique quadruple this season of League, League Cup, Uefa Cup and FA Cup.
The 28-year-old scored two of her side's goals as Arsenal came from behind on Sunday to beat Charlton Women 4-1 in the FA Cup final at Nottingham Forest's City Ground.
