Cardiff City were embarrassed in the quarter-finals of the FAW Premier Cup for the second year in a row as Carmarthen snatched a famous win. Byron Anthony gave Cardiff the lead in the opening minutes when he fired in a left-foot volley from a corner.
Carmarthen equalised on 23 minutes when Danny Thomas had a simple tap-in at the far post from Nathan Cotterall's cross.
Nathan Cotterall then coolly lobbed the Bluebirds keeper for the winner seven minutes before half-time.
Cardiff enjoyed the better of possession in the second-half, but they were indebted to Lee Worgan for keeping in the match as he saved headers from Kevin Aherne-Evans and Mark Dodds.
New Cardiff signing and debutant Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu wasted the best chance when he fired wide with the Carmarthen goalkeeper out of position.
