TNS and Rhyl make final
WELSH CUP

The top two clubs in the Welsh Premiership will meet in the Welsh Cup final on 9 May, after TNS and Rhyl won their respective semi-finals.

TNS beat Port Talbot 1-0 at Park Avenue, Aberystwyth, John Toner securing TNS' place with a late goal.

It was goalless after 90 minutes at Newtown between Cwmbran and Rhyl, but six goals followed in extra time with the league leaders eventually winning 4-2.

Top scorer Andy Moran grabbed a hat-trick for Rhyl and Keith Power added another, while Mike Fowler netted both Cwmbran's goals.

JT HUGHES MITSUBISHI WELSH PREMIER

In the only league game played on Saturday, bottom club Barry went ahead at Welshpool through Mattie Davies, but the home side battled back in the second half and equalised through Geraint Windsor.

On Friday night, Caersws moved into fifth place as they comfortably beat Newtown 4-0, with Graham Evans bagging a brace to extend his tally to 26 for the season.

DR MARTENS & UNIBOND LEAGUES

Newport County drew 0-0 at Chelmsford, while Merthyr drew 1-1 at Penydarren Park against Hinckley after two own goals.

There was disapppointment for Colwyn Bay, who lost 2-1 at Workington after leading through a James McIlvogue goal. The home side's winner came in the final minute.
