Glantraeth's dream ends
WELSH CUP

Welsh League club UWIC took Cwmbran to extra-time at the Leckwith Stadium before conceding a goal in the second period to lose 2-1.

Cwmbran's Michael Fowler opened the scoring after 20 minutes but Ryan Jenkins soon equalised for UWIC and it remained 1-1 after 90 minutes.

Jason Welsh netted the winner for the Crows who extend their winning run to eight league and cup games.

Glantraeth's Richard Owen gave the Cymru Alliance club a 1-0 lead at half-time at Treflan against Premiership leaders TNS but they were eventually well beaten 4-1 with second-half goals from Steve Beck, Justin Perry, Jamie Wood and John Toner.

Defender Liam Hancock scored the only goal of the game for Port Talbot at NEWI Cefn Druids.

Rhyl left it late at Afan Lido before securing their place in the semi-final.

Chris McGinn had given them the lead just before the interval but Lido's Steve Parry equalised early in the second-half and with four minutes remaining Andy Moran made it 2-1.

LOOSEMORE'S LEAGUE CHALLENGE CUP

After battling out a 0-0 draw in the first leg at Caersws, Carmarthen Town booked their place in the final thanks to Owen Thomas who scored the game's only goal.

They will meet either Bangor or Rhyl in the final.

JT HUGHES MITSUBISHI WELSH PREMIER

Stuart Rain and Steve Hopkins scored for Connahs Quay Nomads in their 2-0 win at Jenner Park against bottom club Barry Town.

The match between Welshpool and Haverfordwest was postponed.

DR MARTENS LEAGUE

Nathan Davies scored two goals in the first five minutes to help Newport County to a 2-1 win over Tiverton Town.

Despite going ahead through Cortez Belle, Merthyr eventually lost away at Havant & Waterlooville.

The home side fought back to lead 2-1 before Craig Stiens equalised for the Martyrs, but the home side ran out 4-2 winners.

UNIBOND LEAGUE

James McIlvogue gave Colwyn Bay an early lead at Bamber Bridge but the home side battled back to equalise 15 minutes from time.
