An extra-time winner from loan signing Jonny Godsmark saw League Two side Hereford stun Charlton in the first round of the Carling Cup.
Godsmark snatched the winner eight minutes into extra time when he fired past goalkeeper Rob Elliot into the roof of the net from close range.
Charlton's Andy Gray somehow managed to head wide with an open goal to aim at in the first half.
And the striker had a penalty saved after he was fouled by Richard Rose.
Hereford manager John Trewick told BBC Hereford and Worcester:
"They are a big club, just out of the Championship and they have some good players.
"They made a few changes but there were still some good players in their side, obviously, but there were good players in our team as well.
"We had some good chances apart from the goal that we scored so I am very happy with the performance."
