Rueben Reid scored a late equaliser and then struck the winning penalty as Rotherham scraped past Wednesday.

Etienne Esajas put Wednesday ahead with an angled drive, but seconds later Rotherham were level when Alex Rhodes took a through ball and passed home.

Esajas scored a fine free-kick in the 117th minute after Marc Joseph was sent off for fouling Leon Clarke.

But Reid prodded home from six yards and then took the decisive penalty after Esajas had missed for The Owls.
