Jason Crowe scored the only goal as Northampton defeated Millwall in the Carling Cup.

Northampton might have taken an early lead when Danny Jackman picked out Ryan Gilligan, but he hit the post.

Town struck after 16 minutes when Adebayo Akinfenwa dummied a cross from Liam Davis and Crowe converted.

Millwall came close to an equaliser but Mark Bunn denied Lewis Grabban just after the break and Chris Hackett struck the woodwork from 25 yards.
