Luton defied their status as the bottom club in the Football League as they knocked Championship Plymouth out of the Carling Cup.
Rossi Jarvis opened the scoring in the 15th minute, blasting home a right-footed half volley from 12 yards.
Substitute Tristan Plummer sealed the win 11 minutes from time when Asa Hall's shot was parried into his path.
Jason Puncheon hit the crossbar for Plymouth a minute from time but Luton comfortably held on.
