Premiership heavyweights Chelsea and Manchester United were drawn together in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup. Liverpool, whose young reserve team beat Tottenham after a penalty shoot-out on Wednesday, will meet Watford, who stunned Portsmouth on Tuesday.
United edged out Arsenal on Wednesday while Chelsea overcame neighbours Fulham in their quarter-final.
The semi-final ties will be played over two legs in the weeks commencing 10 and 24 January.
