Mattie Burrows' injury time wonder strike keeps Glentoran top of the Carling Premiership
Mattie Burrows' sensational injury-time goal earned Carling Premiership leaders Glentoran a dramatic and fortunate victory over Portadown at the Oval.
Portadown's Keith O'Hara hit the woodwork early on before Richard Clarke rattled the crossbar at the other end.
However, the second half was totally forgettable before substitute Burrows' remarkable 92nd-minute goal.
From 16 yards out, Burrows back-heeled Jonny Black's cross into the roof of the Portadown net to stun the Ports.
It was an astonishing goal and largely out of keeping with the previous 91 minutes.
Portadown almost took the lead in the second minute with O'Hara hitting the woodwork with a curling free-kick.
However after the lively start, there was precious little for the small crowd to get excited about for the next 20 minutes before Richard Clarke hit the Glentoran crossbar after a quickly-taken free-kick.
Darren Kelly came to Portadown's rescue with a last-gasp clearance as Daryl Fordyce looked set to pounce.
Glentoran continue to press before half-time as Ports keeper David Miskelly denied Paul Leeman in a double save and Shane McCabe then cleared a Fordyce shot off the line.
There was precious little for the small attendance to get excited about in the second half before Burrows' late goal.
