Roy Coyle was in the dugout with Scott Young in the stands
Glentoran have a mountain to climb in their Europa League first qualifying round tie after being well beaten in Thursday's first leg in Iceland.
Gudmundur Reynir Gunnarsson put KR Reykjavik in front in the 12th minute and Kjartan Finnbogason doubled their lead 20 minutes later.
Bjorglfur Takefusa added a third on 52 minutes to leave Glentoran needing a miracle back in Belfast next week.
The Glens were under-strength for Thursday's game.
Colin Nixon, Ciaran Martyn and James Taylor all missed out because of holidays while Paul Leeman (injury) and Matty Burrows (suspended) were also ruled out.
Director of football Roy Coyle took charge of the Glens from the dugout in Iceland.
This was because manager Scott Young lacks the relevant coaching badges.
Young had to watch the match from the directors' box.
The Icelandic side are currently ninth in their domestic league having won only two of their opening nine games but they were too sharp for the rusty Glens on Thursday evening.
