Rory Patterson scoops second Player of the Year award

Rory Patterson scored 41 goals for Coleraine

Striker Rory Patterson scooped his second Player of the Year award for last season when he was named Ulster Footballer of the Year on Friday night.

Patterson was the unanimous choice for the prize which is organised by the Castlereagh Glentoran Supporters Club.

The 25-year-old, who scored 41 goals for Coleraine, also won the Carling Northern Ireland Football Writers' Player of the Year Award.

Patterson is currently on tour with the Northern Ireland squad.

Linfield midfielder Jamie Mulgrew and Crusaders defender Davy Magowan were also nominated for the Ulster Footballer of the Year award.

Patterson, who has signed a pre-contract agreement with Glentoran, started for Northern Ireland in their 2-0 defeat by Turkey on Wednesday night.
