Crusaders are reported to have suspended striker David Rainey.
The Carling Premiership's leading goalscorer was left out of the Crues squad in Tuesday's 4-1 defeat by Coleraine at the Showgrounds.
Manager Stephen Baxter is believed to have been unhappy with comments made by Rainey at half-time in last weekend's defeat by Ballymena United.
There are suggestions that Baxter may hold talks with Rainey at Crusaders' training session on Thursday evening.
Crusaders chairman Stephen Bell described the issue as "an internal disciplinary matter which is being dealt with".
