Linfield manager David Jeffrey is impressed with the progress of Mark Miskimmin
Linfield boss David Jeffrey has praised young striker Mark Miskimmin for making the most of his breakthrough into the first team at Windsor Park.
Miskimmin scored the only goal as the Blues beat Cliftonville in Wednesday's the County Antrim Shield semi-final.
"Early in the season I was frustrated with him as I knew there was so much more to his game," said Jeffrey.
"But he has applied himself well since coming into the team and has taken on board the advice given to him."
Miskimmin's fine strike early in the second half put Linfield into the 1 December final where they will face Crusaders.
"It was a great run by Jim Ervin and when he pulled it back to me I just slotted it home," said 21-year-old Miskimmin.
"We were beaten 4-0 by Cliftonville last time so I feel we have put that right.
"We are trying to win every single match and get a bit of momentum going."
