Lisburn Distillery lie seven points adrift at the bottom of the Premiership after a 2-0 defeat by Ballymena United.

David Cushley volleyed home the opener with his right foot in the 23rd minute and Darren Lockhart then headed in from a corner in the 37th minute.

Phillip Matthews saved midfielder Philip Carson's shot from the edge of the box with his legs before the break.

In the second half, Matthews saved Andy Smith's angled shot and Lockhart headed wide as the Sky Blues dominated.

The Whites lost Chris Kingsberry and Mark Cooling through injury.

Ballymena leapfrog Portadown into ninth position in the league.
