John Convery sends a last-gasp header past keeper John Connolly
John Convery equalised deep in injury-time in a dramatic finale to this Carling Premier clash at Shamrock Park.
Ports striker Gary McCutcheon wasted the best first-half opening, with all the drama coming late in the game.
Reds forward Chris Scannell fired home an 80th minute opener but McCutcheon netted from kevin Braniff's pass to make it 1-1 with two minutes left.
Scannell headed in his second in added time only for Portadown skipper Convery to head home a last-gasp leveller.
Cliftonville keeper John Connolly saved two early shots from McCutcheon while Chris Scannell headed over for the Belfast side.
Kevin Braniff put McCutcheon clear but the Scotsman took the ball too wide as he went past Connolly and the keeper was able to get back and block the strike on goal.
Francis Murphy was the architect of both Scannell goals after coming on as a substitute.
However, Convery had the final say as the defender headed in from Keith O'Hara's cross in the third minute of injury-time.
