Premier champions Manchester United have progressed to the quarter-finals of this year's Milk Cup competition where they will play Desportivo Brasil.

The Premiership club defeated Club Cantolao 4-0 on Tuesday night.

Junior holders Everton are also through to the last eight and will now face Swindon Town on Wednesday.

County Down Juniors booked a place against Club Pachuca in the knockout stage and County Down Premier will play Sheffield United after also qualifying.

County Down Juniors won their second match, 2-0 over North Dublin while Everton beat Spartak Moscow 1-0 to seal their place in the last eight.

Chelsea play Watford and Hull play Plymouth in the other Junior ties, Hull having qualified thanks to winning a drawing of lots against luckless County Armagh.

Co Armagh had drawn 0-0 with Hull on Monday and beat AB Copenhagen 3-1 on Tuesday.

Co Down beat Spartak Moscow on Monday and followed that up with their victory over North Dublin, Shane McCartan and Andrew Mitchell scoring the winning goals for John Bailie's side.

Chelsea booked their quarter-final berth with a thrilling 4-3 success over Maccabi Haifa while Watford enjoyed a convincing 4-0 win over AIK Stockholm.

In other Junior results on Tuesday, County Fermanagh drew 0-0 with Dundalk SL, County Antrim beat Queen of the South 5-1 and County Tyrone drew 1-1 with Donegal.

The Northern Ireland counties enjoyed mixed fortunes in the Premier section on Tuesday.

County Down drew 1-1 with Watford, County Antrim beat Cherry Orchard 3-2, County Armagh drew 0-0 with Shamrock Rovers, County Fermanagh drew 1-1 with Cruz Azul, County Londonderry lost 3-2 to Desportivo Brasil and County Tyrone went down 1-0 to South Coast Bayern.

In the other quarter-final ties, Fenerbache play Cherry Orchard, South Coast Bayern face FC Porto and Sheffield United play County Down.
