Derry City's Tam McManus in action against Skonto Riga
Europa League hero Tam McManus says a second leg win over Skonto Riga would be a huge lift for Derry City.
McManus headed a crucial away goal as the League of Ireland side drew 1-1 in Latvia on Thursday night.
"The last few weeks have been tough for the club. If we could get through this tie it would give the fans something to shout about," said the Derry striker.
"This was only my second start and to get my first goal for the club in such a massive game is fantastic."
Candystripes boss Stephen Kenny said he was delighted to get the away goal but cautioned that the second leg would be just as tough as the match in Riga.
"We were a bit worried early on when they got a good goal," Kenny told BBC Radio Foyle.
"But we came back and I was delighted with the attitude of the players because they showed tremendous application.
"We created chances and could have won it but we could have lost it as well."
