Derry City secured a 3-0 away win in Thursday night's League of Ireland Premier Division game against Galway United at Terryland Park.

Sammy Morrow opened the scoring for the Candystripes in the 35th minute and the same player added the second from the penalty spot in the 51st minute.

Former Glentoran player David Scullion netted the third after 64 minutes.

The win moves Derry up to third in the league table, a point behind Bohemians and four behind leaders Cork City.

Derry's next league game is against St Patrick's Athletic at the Brandywell on Tuesday night.
