Linfield star Michael Gault has been out of action since October

Linfield midfielder Michael Gault is to return to action in a reserve match on Wednesday after recovering from a fractured ankle.

The Northern Ireland international is expected to play in part of Linfield Swifts' George Wilson Cup match against Ballymena United Reserves.

Gault has been sidelined since sustaining the injury in October.

"I have been training for two weeks and have stepped it up a bit with sprinting and other things," said Gault.
