Kevin Kelbie scores a late winner to stun Glentoran at the Oval

Ballymena moved off the bottom of the table for the first time this season by beating league leaders Glentoran 2-1.

Michael Ward and Kevin Kelbie had first-half chances for United while Daryl Fordyce went close for the Glens.

Alan Blayney saved from Andy Waterworth before substitute Ryan Deans flicked the ball into the bottom corner from Kelbie's free-kick after 72 minutes.

Darren Boyce equalised with a low shot past Blayney on 82 but Kelbie scored the winner with a great finish on 90.

Ward dragged an early shot wide after a good build-up by the Sky Blues and then Fordyce headed straight at Blayney.

A Gavin McDonnell challenge denied Fordyce the opportunity to break the deadlock and then Kelbie headed narrowly wide from a Stuart King free-kick.

Just before the break, Ward's tame shot was cleared off the line with goalkeeper James Taylor beaten.

Teenager Deans scored on 72 minutes and then another substitute, Boyce, took the ball on his right foot before cutting inside and shooting past Blayney.

Kelbie took advantage of a rebound off referee Keith Halliday to hold off three defenders and rifle the ball in off the inside of the post in the final minute of regular time.
