Relegated Portadown are on course to claim a second Premiership scalp in the Co-Operative Insurance Cup.
Having already beaten Cliftonville, the Ports will take a two-goal lead into the second leg of their quarter-final against holders Linfield.
Wesley Boyle gave them the lead on 43 minutes with a 25-yard screamer from Richard Leckey's pass.
Then on 81 minutes a quick throw by Ross Redmond allowed Kevin Braniff to set up Gary McCutcheon for the second.
The second leg is scheduled to be played on Wednesday, 17 December at Windsor Park.
