Paddy McLaughlin and Gary Liggett challenge for the ball

Neither side could break the deadlock despite several goalscoring chances.

Tommy McCallion, Stephen Dooley, Gareth Harkin and Stephen Dooley had scoring chances for Coleraine before the break, Tuda Murphy saving well from Harkin.

For Glenavon, Gary Liggett skimmed the post and Trevor Molloy had a shot cleared off the line.

Molloy and David Larmour were wide with second-half efforts, Hugh Dickson went close also but Molloy was sent-off for pushing Howard Beverland on 78 minutes.

McCallion had the first chance of the game, then Tony Grant bore in on goal at the other end but Davy O'Hare cleared the danger.

McLaughlin hit the bar and Beverland cleared Molloy's goalbound attempt.
