Derry City manager Stephen Kenny was happy with the result but not his team's display in the 1-0 FAI Ford Cup semi-final win over Galway United.
"We didn't play at all well but the conditions were very difficult and we are through to the final.
"Galway played well in the first half and their system caused us problems.
"It was a great finish from Mark Farren and we had many chances after that to add a second but we didn't take them - we didn't play to our potential."
"You could see why Galway came into this game on the back of an eight-match unbeaten run.
"We defended well and had plenty of opportunities but we can do a lot better."
The Candystripes have already won the League Cup and will complete a double if they overcome Bohemians in next month's decider.
"We've had some difficult games in this competition but we have come through and we're there," added Kenny.
"I'm relieved but delighted to be in the decider - our players dug in and they were hurting after losing in the Setanta Cup semi-final."
