Linfield beat Crusaders after extra-time and penalties in the County Antrim shield semi-final
Linfield defeated Crusaders 3-0 on penalties after their County Antrim Shield semi-final at the Oval ended 3-3 after extra-time on Tuesday night.
Paul Munster gave Linfield a 42nd minute lead and Steven Douglas rifled in a left-foot shot after 65 minutes.
Aaron Black scored on 85, Jordan Owens then headed the equaliser, Munster scored in extra-time but David Rainey levelled with a 98th-minute header.
Michael Carvill scored the winning penalty after three Crusaders misses.
Blues goalkeeper Stuart Addis was yellow-carded by referee Trevor Moutray after bringing down Mark Dickson in the 21st minute but then saved from Martin Donnelly's curling and dipping free-kick.
Jamie Mulgrew was stretchered off after 27 minutes and it was against the run of play that Linfield took the lead on 42 minutes.
Damian Curran's corner was headed on by Paul Munster and when the ball came back to the striker he was quickest to react and head over the line.
Addis denied Stevie Coulter who met Donnelly's cross five yards out.
A tame second half came to life when Douglas blasted home a left-foot shot after the ball fell to him, Curran's shot having been only half-cleared.
Douglas' first shot was charged down but he reacted quickest to fire the ball past Chris Keenan.
Black kept his composure to drill a low shot under Addis and then Owens levelled with a backpost header from an Eamon McAllister corner.
In extra-time, Ferguson sent Carvill away on the right and he crossed for Munster to score with a glancing header on 96 minutes.
Rainey's header from six yards made it 3-3 and brought a penalty shootout.
Gareth McKeown had his shot saved, Black blasted over the bar and Dickson was also denied by Addis.
Jonny Harkness, Glenn Ferguson and Carvill were the Linfield penalty-scorers.
