Linfield's Glenn Ferguson celebrates two goals against Lisburn Distillery

Linfield replaced Distillery at the top of the JJB Sports Premier League thanks to a Glenn Ferguson double at New Grosvenor on Tuesday night.

The striker's precise lob over keeper Alex Spackman put the Blues ahead on 32 minutes and he doubled the lead with a superb volley three minutes later.

Linfield's Johnny Harkness was sent-off for two yellow cards after 71 minutes.

Aidan O'Kane turned the ball into his own net with a minute left but Linfield held on to move a point clear.

The champions went close early in the game when Mark Miskimmin fired wide after Spackman blocked Robert Garrett's strike.

Gary Muir had Distillery's best first-half chance with his shot saved by Alan Mannus.

Linfield also have a game in hand on their nearest challengers.
