Richard Gibson in action against Glenavon's Jay Magee

Coleraine new boy Richard Gibson scored a hat-trick against his former club to lift the Bannsiders up to third.

Gibson fired the first in the second minute after good work by Darren Cassidy and Marty Hunter set up the second 10 minutes from the break.

Glenavon scored when a speculative shot from Trevor Molloy was deflected in but then Gibson netted a penalty after he had been brought down by Hugh Dickson.

Tony Grant's late header coud not save Glenavon who are still without a point.
