Mulgrew goes full-time with Blues

Jamie Mulgrew finished the season well with Linfield

Midfielder Jamie Mulgrew has agreed a new three-year full-time contract with Linfield but the Blues have called off their pursuit of striker Kevin Kelbie.

Mulgrew joins Alan Mannus, Michael Gault, Paul McAreavey, Damien Curran, Conor Downey and Michael Carvill as a full-time player at Windsor Park.

Linfield had bid 25,000 for Kelbie but Ballymena have informed them that the player is not for sale at any price.

Manager David Jeffrey is still on the lookout for further signings.

Peter Thompson and Thomas Stewart were both on full-time deals before they recently left the league champions and their departure freed up funds to allow Mulgrew and Carvill to agree professional terms.

Downey is set to stay with the Blues after a bid for the player from Ballymena was rejected and Cliftonville, who were believed to be interested in the player, failed to make an offer for their former player.
