Marty Quinn replaces Paul Millar as Bangor manager
Marty Quinn has resigned as Coleraine manager to become the new boss at Bangor, who will play in next season's inaugural IFA Invitational League.
Quinn informed Coleraine chairman Hugh Wade of his decision on Tuesday night.
"I felt it was the right time to move on and that the time was right for a new challenge," Quinn told the BBC.
"Basically, my job is to keep Bangor in the Premier League next season and I want to bring in players with the right attitude who will battle to stay up."
"It is a case of consolidation at Bangor and I have to get the team well motivated and organised.
"Stephen Beatty is coming with me as a coach and I hope to make further appointments to my backroom staff soon," added the former Cliftonville manager.
"There are still good players at Coleraine and they can progress further but I just didn't get the same buzz anymore, not the same feeling for the last cup final as I did the previous ones.
"It is sad and emotional to be leaving Coleraine but hopefully I can still hold my head high in the town.
"We had some hard times, but some fantastic ones as well."
Wade described Quinn's decision as "a bolt from the blue" but wished him well for the future.
"Marty said he felt that he needed a new challenge, the travelling was getting too much for him and he believed he had taken the club as far as he could," said the Coleraine chairman.
"I wished him all the best for the future and we left on good terms.
"Marty did a great job at Coleraine, has been very loyal in trying circumstances and took us to three Irish Cup finals," he added.
Quinn was in charge for eight and a half years at Ballycastle Road.
