Ciaran Martyn pounced for the winner after a defensive mistake
Derry City made it two wins out of two in the Eircom League Premier League as Ciaran Martyn poked home a late winner in Friday's derby against Finn Harps.
Harps goalkeeper James Gallagher denied Paddy McCourt early on while Mark Farren also missed a Derry chance.
However, Farren headed Derry ahead on 41 minutes after a Niall McGinn cross.
Stuart Malcolm levelled on 49 minutes but the defender's header put keeper Gallagher under pressure on 83 minutes and Martyn pounced to prod home.
Malcolm was attempting to guide Owen Morrison's header back to his keeper but Gallagher could only beat the ball away and Martyn had the simple task of finding the empty net from close range.
Derry had the better of the early exchanges but Harps soon got to grips with the contest and the Donegal club's manager Paul Hegarty will probably feel that his side deserved something out of Friday's game.
