Derry City striker Kevin McHugh has won the BBC Radio Foyle-Bank of Ireland North-West Sports Personality of the Month Award for October. McHugh's outstanding goal in the Eircom League Cup final against Bohemians ensured Derry had something to celebrate in a disappointing season.
His extra-time goal secured a 1-0 success for the Candystripes.
McHugh has been the club's highest scorer this season, bagging 12 goals, the latest against Shamrock Rovers.
