Linfield 2-1 Lisburn Distillery
Peter Thompson
Peter Thompson scored Linfield's winning goal
Peter Thompson was the matchwinner for Linfield with a flick header off the underside of the bar from Aidan O'Kane's corner after 62 minutes.

Mark Dickson netted the opener for the Blues on 25 minutes, his first of the season, after Glenn Fergsuon had headed down an O'Kane corner.

Peter McCann equalised on 49 after the ball fell to him following a poor punch by home goalkeeper Alan Mannus.

Later, referee Davy Malcolm denied both sides strong penalty appeals.

Nathan McConnell was through on goal when Pat McShane appeared to bring him down but no penalty was awarded and the referee then waved away penalty appeals when Glenn Ferguson looked to have been brought down inside the box.

Thompson and O'Kane had chances for Linfield in the opening minutes before Dickson broke the deadlock.

After McCann's equaliser, Thompson had an effort pushed round the post by Philip Matthews and after the striker's winning goal, the Whites keeper also denied Paul McAreavey.
