Crusaders got the better of a nine-goal thriller which saw four penalties scored and Jeff Spiers sent-off on 54. Barry Spence converted from the spot on 24, Joe Gray fired in the equaliser after 33 and Ryan McIlmoyle made it 2-1 from the spot eight minutes later.
Martin Reilly levelled on 45, Matthew Boyd edged Limavady ahead after 55 but David Rainey headed home soon after.
Spence's second penalty made it 4-3 and Darren Lockhart added another before McIlmoyle netted his second spot-kick.
Spence opened the scoring after Conor Lynch handled but Gray found the net after Chris Morrow lost the ball and Matthew Boyd laid the ball on for the midfielder to score.
McIlmoyle put Limavady ahead after Spence fouled Brian Tosh but Reilly struck with an excellent finish on his return to the Seaview outfit.
Boyd headed in Gray's corner but Rainey converted a backpost header from Reilly's cross.
Spence's second penalty came after Glenn Miller brought down Rainey inside the area and McIlmoyle scored his second spot-kick when Eamon Doherty handled inside the area.
