Ken Oman scored the only goal in the third round encounter |
Ken Oman's early goal was enough to give Derry a deserved derby victory in the FAI Ford Senior Cup third round clash at Finn Park on Saturday night. The defender headed home at the back-post from Kevin Deery's free-kick on 10 minutes.
Harps keeper James Gallagher and his opposite number Pat Jennings made good saves just before the break.
Derry defended well in the second half with Declan Divin squandering the only good opening for the Ballybofey hosts.
Gallagher made a superb stop to deny Sean Hargan while Jennings kept out a Stephen Parkhouse strike.
Longford Town defeated Fanad United 2-0 in Saturday's other third round tie.
