Marty Verner hit both Distillery's goals at Lakeview Park |
Lisburn Distillery claimed their eighth successive win when they beat lowly Loughgall in Saturday's Carnegie Irish League clash at Lakeview Park. New Loughgall boss Shane Reddish can't have been happy with his team's first-half display as Marty Verner scored in the 11th and 36th minutes.
Loughgall improved after the break and Paul Baron had a shot saved by Distillery keeper Philip Matthews.
Gareth Liggett pulled a goal back for Loughgall in the 83rd minute.
Verner hammered Distillery into the lead in the 11th minute after Loughgall had failed to clear the ball following a corner.
Conor Hagan's quick free-kick allowed Verner to double the Whites' lead in the 33rd minute.
Distillery could have been even further ahead at the interval as Darren Armour had an effort saved by Robinson.
Loughgall came more into the interval and Baron tested Matthews and also scuffed a shot when he had been presented with a chance.
James Bell was close to extending Distillery's lead but Liggett's 83rd-minute goal ensured something of a nervous finish for the Whites.
However, Armour went close for Distillery at the other end of the field as they held on for the win.
