Kyle Neill got Glentoran's second equaliser against Glenavon |
Premier League leaders Glentoran dropped points for only the second time this season as they came from behind twice to draw at home to Glenavon. Glenavon took the lead just before half-time when David Hawthorne's shot was deflected past keeper Elliott Morris by Glens defender Paul Leeman.
Peter McCann equalised thanks to an unselfish pass from Gary Hamilton.
Glenavon regained the lead through Paul Walsh's swerving shot but Glentoran's Kyle Neill struck a second equaliser.
"The was not a backs-to-the-wall performance and we deserved to come away with a point, we did not steal it," said Glenavon manager Colin Malone.
"But we need to transfer that sort of effort to our home games.
"Our form at Mourneview Park is a mystery and it is something we are working on."
