The Steel and Sons Cup final is being moved from its traditional Christmas Day slot to Saturday 23 December. The final of the intermediate football competition is usually the only fixture on the local sporting calendar on 25 December, attracting a good crowd.
But the cup committee has opted to try the preceding Saturday instead as there are no Irish League matches that day.
H&W Welders are through to the final for the first time and will play Comber Rec or Brantwood.
Last year the final was played on Christmas Eve because Christmas Day fell on a Sunday.
The County Antrim FA organisers were delighted with the attendance and that obviously swayed the decision to try the Saturday again.
