Gary Hamilton put Glentoran into the lead at Seaview |
Glentoran stretched their lead at the top of the Premier League to four points with a deserved win at Seaview. Paul Millar's men went ahead through Gary Hamilton after Chris Morgan had picked him out with a right-wing cross.
Crusaders equalised on 33 minutes with Raymond Campbell's close-range volley but the Glens regained the lead through Ryan Berry's deflected shot.
Crusaders had Ciaran Gargan sent-off just before Hamilton set up Sean Ward to fire in number three.
It ended Crusaders' 100% home league record and means Glentoran have won all six of their away fixtures.
But it could have been a different story if David Larmour had done beter than lift a good chance over the bar in the early stages.
That miss looked costly as Hamilton netted the opener as the Crues lost possession and gave Morgan time to cross for top scorer Hamilton to score.
Crues boss Stephen Baxter made a tactical substitution with Campbell coming on for Colin Coates.
Campbell's first touch was to shoot the equaliser after Glens keeper Elliott Morris had palmed out a free-kick.
Berry put Glentoran into the lead in the 64th minute when his low shot was deflected past Crues keeper Neil Armstrong.
Substitute Gargan's 71st-minute dismissal was for a tackle which brought him a second yellow card.
A minute later Hamilton laid the ball off for Ward to drill in number three wit his right foot.
It was the east Belfast side's 35th goal in 12 league matches.
