Davy Larmour and Marty Hunter battle for the ball at Mourneview |
Crusaders moved to the top of the Carnegie Irish Premier League table thanks to an 80th minute winning goal by Chris Morrow. Morrow combined well with Davy Larmour and fired in a fine right foot shot into the corner of the net.
Glenavon had the better of the first half with Davy Hawthorne, Nathan McConnell and Neal Gawley going close.
Larmour and Stephen Shaw had second half chances for the Crues and Conor Walsh and McConnell for the home side.
Hawthorne's 28th minute effort was a tame one, McConnell shot over the bar on 36 minutes and Neil Armstrong denied Gawley's shot after 42 minutes with a diving save.
After the break Shaw was just wide with a shot and Walsh clipped the edge of the post with a 25-yard effort on 78 minutes.
Larmour failed to connect with a cross from the right with an open net gaping before Morrow popped up to net the decisive goal.
