The points were shared at Limavady as Stephen Parkhouse's 52nd minute header from 16 yards earned his side a draw. The striker netted his third of the season from Martin Cuttmore's cross.
Randal Reid, making his first start for Ballymena, gave his side the lead on 34 minutes, heading home from a Mark Picking cross after some wing trickery.
After the break Austin Friel skied a shot over the bar and forced a reflex save from Michael Doherty while Picking skimmed the bar with a shot late on.
